At the moment section 3 "Personal Arms" has arms relating to a named individual, section 4 "Personal coats of arms" merely has a family name, but includes at least one example from a country which does not admit of family coats of arms, but holds the majority view as far as laws of arms, that the achievemnt is personal to the grantee, not to all members of the grantees family.

why is this an article rather than a category?

No, the category is Category:Coats of arms. I don't really see the point in this list. I think it could just as well be deleted, because I don't think anyone is updating it. Arms Jones (talk) 21:40, 8 December 2013 (UTC)[reply]
